el salvador may 23, 2008
El Salvador, home to MS-13 and 18th Street. I was offered a plane ticket to shoot a surf vid for my friends and with no second thoughts I jumped on that plane. It was my first time for 3rd world country travel and I found that its a dope country that everyone should check out.
Originally not knowing what I was headed up for, I didn't bring my D70s SLR so I was relying on my skills and my Canon G3 camera. It was just as good, but I wish I had more time to shoot more. I also brought my Super 8 camera for kicks. But that will be in the DVD being made.
The bad thing was that we were supposed to stay for a month, but because of bad weather and contaminated water we left early so the month became 1 week and a 1/2. Still chill. I got to talk to the local folks, swim and shoot in the waters, eat, shit and sleep with mesquitos.
The food was bomb, and the alchohol was cheap. Almost the whole trip, we had beer for breakfast and $15 bottle service at lunch or late night. Accompanying that was dope lemonada and carne Asada plate. Thus we named this joint, "The Promised Land"
This trip experience told me its time to get more stamps on that passport and get out more.
